Sleep and rest – it’s more important than you think…

Sleep is very important for recovery of all type of illnesses especially adrenal fatigue and all the related health issues associated with adrenal exhaustion. This can be the difficult part as an inability to sleep or restless sleep are just some of the symptoms of adrenal fatigue.

We may naturally achieve a second wind at about 10.30 p.m. to 11 p.m. at night. This then results in our staying up very late maybe until 1 or 2 a.m. Undoubtedly this results in your NOT being able to get out of bed the next morning. To avoid this pitfall, get to bed and lights out, especially mobile phones, before 10.30 p.m. before your adrenals kick in to overdrive.

SLEEP is just one of the topics that people say distresses them the most – and keeps them awake at night as they “can’t” sleep!

One of the best top tips: Get exercise during the day. Vary your exercise and intensity levels and also the times you exercise, e.g. mid morning to late evening. See when you sleep best. Try for a few evenings before deciding for sure. Relax before bed with mediation, prayer, writing, reading something very light. Avoid stimulants before bed. Get some naps during the day if at all possible, especially if you feel fatigued – your body is trying to tell you something!
