#VolunteersWeek – some ideas

Fed up with being at home?

Want to make the best use of your time?

…not sure what or how?

Maybe volunteering would solve various conundrums…Gayle Palmer suggests some ideas..

  • Litter Picking

  • Charity Shops

  • Wildlife schemes eg Pagham Harbour, FLOW (connecting the waterways & ponds etc. across the Peninsula)

  • Check on your neighbour regularly eg a phone call, or call in personally

  • Reading a newspaper for a neighbour each day

Make a difference. Have fun. Bring joy to someone else.

Do you know – with the Coronavirus pandemic there is actually a changing scene for volunteers!

Whilst many shops are currently shut – there are other opportunities opening up in the community – helping those who are self-isolating get food; talking to those who are especially lonely and vulnerable on the phone in your locality – and masses more!

If you have some skills there is also work within the NHS – (for which you may not need much training!) where your skills can be used. So just because you aren’t sure how to give something back, doesn’t mean you can’t!
